My Approach
Turning complexity into clarity
Every project starts with two simple questions: Where are you now, and where do you want to go?
Turning complexity into clarity starts with understanding the current situation and identifying what matters. I build on data, scientific evidence, and objective analysis to create a sound basis for decision-making. My role is not to make decisions for you, but to provide the information and structure needed to make them with confidence.
From there, we develop a strategic direction based on your starting point and objectives. Sometimes new approaches are needed. Sometimes established methods are the right choice.
But clarity alone is not enough. Strategy only creates value when it leads to implementation. I believe in listening, involving people, and developing solutions together. Clear objectives and frameworks turn plans into action. I work with clear priorities and ambitious timelines, while focusing on a limited number of projects at a time.
And then there is innovation. I do not see innovation as an end in itself. But every transformation creates an opportunity to consider something new. Where it adds value, new ideas and technologies can open up possibilities and take a project one step further.
My academic background in Natural Resource Management has also shaped the way I think about organizations. To me, sustainability goes beyond environmental responsibility. It means using human, financial, and material resources wisely, involving people in the process, and creating solutions that last.
Insights & Projects
A selection of projects, ideas, and topics that reflect my experience, interests, and way of working.
Rethinking a Key Business Tool for the Forestry Sector
For more than a decade, ForstBAR has served as a central reference system for cost accounting and analysis across the Swiss forestry sector. Its data supports not only businesses and institutions, but also federal-level analysis and decision-making — giving the system strategic importance for the sector and beyond.
Balancing Policy and Practice in National Funding Design
I supported the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) in refining the 2029 program agreement framework for forest infrastructure outside protection forests. The objective was to translate practical implementation experience into a funding model that is technically sound, transparent, and applicable across Switzerland.
The Role of AI-Based Chatbots in Forest Management
At the EFI Mediterranean Network Forum 2026, I had the chance to pitch our chatbot prototype and exchange ideas on the potential of large language models in forestry.
